the blaghs
Jul. 18th, 2007 07:12 amI have a song stuck in my head: "I've Seen the Rain" which is the last track on the new Pink album if you are lucky enough to buy the "bonus tracks" version. Citgo got it over iTunes, and I've been rather hooked.
It's a rather melon-collie (i know it's not spelled right, deal,) song about Vietnam, and coming home, and still not being home. Her Dad sings it, she backs him up. It's very sweet.
It rather fits my mood lately. Been working more overtime (woot, but not woot.) Been dealing with the folks. Been spreading myself out too thin, and the same line that I've used so many times in the past resurfaces - "I feel thin - sort of stretched, like butter scraped over too much bread... I need a holiday - a very long holiday. - Bilbo"
But I don't have a magic ring to wisk me off to the elves.
I just have a long feuding family, a viper's nest of lawyers, too much work, and not enough hours in the day.
Mehh, buck up little camper, this can't last forever... Tired of hauling away on those bootstraps, and everyone else's bottstraps too.
Cows are unlikely. The farm it's self is unlikely. It's not that my ambitions are lacking, (though they are being tested,) it's that I can see where the butter is drawn to thin for my parents too.
Ehh, the cat is screaming bloody muder at the sleeping form of The Man again. Not sure what's gotten into her, but it's getting downright aggrovating.
Anyway, oil change for the Dragon calls.
