See, there's something about food, and foodstuff, and eroticism, and the sensuality of a well-made stock-pot.

"But then again, it's sort of a fleeting thing, All-Clad, like a fabulous lost Vegas weekend with a squad of nubile cheerleaders and a whole bottle of MDMA because, sure it's all flash and gleam and perfect squeals of delight at first, but 10 minutes into the action it suddenly turns dark and flame stained and exasperatingly fingerprinted, tainted forevermore, the bloom off the rose and that virginal, fresh-from-the-box feeling vanishes like a flower's dream of sunshine in winter."

Had me giggling madly...

Food Porn!

On The Media did a segment comparing the Food Network to Porn, and the parallels between the two.

Literally.

How food networks stars are like porn stars. (Rachel Raye, the girl next door; Iron Chef, the S&M of food, to name a few...)

How the sounds are over-miked like porn. (squish)

How the soundtracks are like porn. (bad, and repititious)

How the camera angles are very similar to porn. (single camera, very 35mm-esque.)

How the neurological response to the Food Network is similar to Porn. (they used lots of big words.)

We always joked about it.
They actually researched it.

I am amused.
