The flashbacks, my god, the flashbacks...
Nov. 24th, 2008 04:02 pmHere in the house that Noise-Cancellation built, we have the worlds Loudest. Fucking. Fire. Alarms. EVER.
I was sitting here, minding my own business this morning when they first went off.
I shit you not, Nomad, my first instinct was to reach for a broom handle and start pounding on the floor.
After having snapped out of it, and realizing that my cube was not my closet-sized dorm room, I grabbed by coat and hat/gloves, and trucked outside, half hallucinating that my black and green coat was my black and green wool cloak.
Anyway.
Some things don't change. There were a certain number of stu...coworkers... who immediately boogied out for Dunkin's. There were some who milled around and complained. Then there was me, taking the chance to get some excercise and doing laps around the building.
About a 1/2 hour they let us back in. (Great comfort, as I was gearing up for a 2 hour marathon of firey goodness.)
3 hours later, here we go again.
This time, I pealed myself out from under the desk, and stumbled to the parking lot below. At this point, coworkers are jettisoning off to friend's roo... cars... and other are just leaving. I walk around the building again. This time, it's only about 15 min and we get to come back in.
Needless to say, I've gotten JACK done today.
