I got to play with wood today. Woot!
And I'm cheating. Horribly. But it will look pretty.
That's one thing they have yet to wrap their fuzzy little shop brains around. I'm a designer. It's got to be pretty. And functional. And I will pay for quality and pretty. Which is why my project is being made out of birch and (some dark wood yet to be procured, probably walnut or something exotic and comperable in color.)
I'm looking at this as a sculpture; a piece of art that can be used and displayed. They don't get that.
Ohhh! The little scale model went over exceptionally well; I got people to see what was going on in my head, and I think we're on the same page now. It's only a month into the class. I think it's about time.
Got four more sides printed out of the Book from Hell(tm) I think I'm down to ten sides left. At this pace, barring catistrophic failure (knock on wood,) it should be done to drop off Saturday morning before the event.
Mmmurph.. 'net radio just went down again. This means my net connection is soon to go, so I'm off to bed..
