Apparently, I can be fired for blogging. Like period. From anywhere. How quaint. If they only knew how much money I was saving them in burn-out counselors by being able to spew openly on the intarwebz.

I don't want to lock my blog, mostly because it's kind of a pain in the ass, and only my pretty close friends bother to come around anyway. Hell, I don't even make it known to my family I have a blog.

I've searched this space. I never mention my The Company by name because, a) I signed the NDA, and actually take them pretty seriously, and b) I'm not dumb.

I've removed most any way that I can think of that could lead to this being backtracked to me by anyone who doesn't actually know me. If you can think of any others, let me know. I've gone so far as to remove my newest favorite icon, because I don't even want a passing physical resemblance of me on here.

Such memos annoy me, because I'm an at-will employee anyway. They don't even need a reason to fire me if they want to, they can just because.

In the future - The place of employment will henceforth be known as "The Company." Coworkers will continued to be referred to as X or Y. I will even try to avoid the use of the words "he" or "she" just in case. I will not allow the use of my real name here. I'm just covering my ass folks, it's nothing personal. If anyone asks, you don't know me. You just happened to find this blog on the internets and I sounded odd enough to keep tuning back into.

The thing that gets me? The Company is actually pretty great. We make pretty nifty things. I can't for the life tell you what the difference is between product X and product Y, but I can tell you they are good. Very good. Even The Company's policies are pretty good, but I won't go into them here. Even most of the people are pretty damn decent to work with. I actually *like* 90% of the people I interact with throughout the rest of The Company. I'm just stuck with the high-maintenance kids. And even then, it's only really one who's making me a little bat-shit crazy.

In doing some research on the interwebz, to make sure that NOTHING is tied back to me that I don't want to have tied back to me, (and I've been painfully careful about just this thing, having never done the Mybook or Facespace things,) I've discovered that I have a name twin, and she's into some... interesting things. Not going to go into it, but if you know my full real name, go hit google and get a giggle. It's given me all the more impetus to get up a real site of my own.

Good night, and good luck.
-K.
