Decided it was not going to be a learning night, just a doing night, and a working on aggression night (I've gotten in the bad habit of taking a swing or two, and then essentially "resetting" rather than continuing to press.) Retained two key thoughts from E. - hip/foot position in relationship to my feet, and stepping in to the big scary swing.
On the drive home, that one clicked with me - working with horses, you want to walk around their rears either very close, or very far away (inside or outside their skull cracking range.) The theory being that if you're close to the kick, there's no impact, they just wind up pushing you away.
Head was in a mildly better place. I have a new book list. Woo.
