time is not on my side
May. 10th, 2007 07:27 amSo, next weekend (not this weekend) I have:
1 Game
2 birthday things
1 other obligation
But that weekend is also the 2007 North East Livestock Expo, Up near Augusta, ME. 3 hours from here. I figure Sunday is the most interest to me, since that's the cattle/beef sale.
But I'm already so over-booked. *sigh* Do I drop everything in preference to this new, and admittedly exciting thing? Or do I shift, re-schedule, and wedge it in? I've asked HorseChaser if she wants to go, she'll get back to me. 3 hours is a long way up to maybe (probably) not buy anything.
In other news, I inquired about vacation time today, as I took a personal day on monday. I hadn't had an actual day off since Christmas.
Come to find out, I don't actually get vacation time. Ever. I get what is called a "longivity bonus" which begins to accrue after I have worked 1800 hours in a calendar year.
Let me put this into perspective. Adverage Joe who works 40 hours a week, all year, won't see this "longivity bonus" until November. Maybe earlier if he works a little overtime and never calls out, or is never forced to take a mantitory holiday.
I'm less than thrilled to find this out. It seems now I will eventually have the choice of going full-bore Four Letter Company, and get leashed to a crackberry and forced to work unpaid overtime, or continue with the Headhunters, continue on their crappy insurance, and get no vacation.
Yesterday was a less than stellar day, and this just capped it off.
Anywho.
