Hands are cold, feet are cold.
Heart is cold?
...Well, yea.
The window to my right is very drafty.
Something should be done about this before the snow flies.
Fall... cold.. winter... the cleansing palette of snow...
Eyes are heavy in that same old insomnic way. Hurts to have them open, hurts more to have them closed.
Had a lot of time to live inside my head today. Not a good time to be checking in there...
Someday I will be able to flick this damned brain off. Someday I will be able to be ignorant like every single fucking person I had to deal with today.
Is Ignorance bliss? They appear to be doing just fine in their candy coated world...
A mother came in with her 10ish year old daughter today, just as I was fixing up a young ROTC guy with a USMC K-bar (nice bit of steel.) The little girl looked up at me an in all earnst asked "Why do you sell knives here?" I replied, keeping in mind the ultra-conservative cut of the mother, "Well, sweetie, some people just like them to have them. Other people have them because it makes them feel safe. This really big one is for that nice young man who I think is in the service. He's a soldier." (to which the guy across the store shot me a grateful smile.)
The girl stood over the counter from me, questions she had just dareing to creep out past her eyes, when dear old mum swept past and herded her out, with a mumbled comment to the effect of "only bad people need knives."
...
So, dear old mum, I expect that little girl is going to have just as many questions as I did at her age. And much like me, if you can't learn it at home, you are going to go elsewhere.
Now, I could have gone through my SCAdian schpeel about the proper way to hold live steel, care, etc, so that this kid didn't go pick up the first knife she lay her hands on and hurt herself.
Be we can't have education, oh no.
Someone might Learn Something.
