Downside of having a car: Driver's tan.

Upside to having a car: Drove to auction.

Downside of having a car: Drove home because my own *&%&@ing family blew me off. So in essence, I blew off one family only to be blown off by the other. This blew.
*
Upside to having a car: Hunted down the elusive local corn beastie. Shall feast on it's carcass tomorrow.
*
Downside of having a car: Hitting small furry twitching things.
*
Upside of having a car: Howling along to sappy country music and not caring who all notices.

So yea, today was weird. Left about 10, went to my favorite antique store/diner in Erving for a bit, got to the auction at about 12. Wandered around looking for folks until about 3:30, at which point I had already spent too much money, and decided to really stick it to the suckers by driving the two hours out of my way to drop off the yearbook. In the process I retrieved clean clothes and a canvas sun pavilion, and my dad tightened the belts in my car. (Woo! No more shrieking when I start it!) So in the end, I guess it was worth it.
Lots of driving. Oh well. Folks were properly guilted. Point for me.
While at the auction, I wound up buying two old framed prints by Carl Anderson, and a sleigh blanket.
Why, you ask? Well, Anderson did a lot of the covers to books I grew up reading, (I believe some of the Black Stallion covers,) and together they were $17.50.
The blanket I got because I had been looking for one. Sleigh robes are often very heavy and very warm, (hence why they are sleigh robes.) This one is a wool backed grayish short fake fur. Needs cleaning desperately, (dropped it off at home to be taken to the dry cleaners,) but it will become my back up cold weather eventing blanket. (And it was 30 bucks.)
Went out with Thorge, got material for pants. Also was gifted with 9.5 yds of the Fabric From Hell(tm). Looks like I'll be at the stitch and bitch, guys. It's already starting to spew forth giant knots of frayed material. They might eat Thorge!
Well, must go. Got lots of sun. Very sleepy.
Hope the other family made out ok.
