And it was... Good.
May. 21st, 2002 07:25 pmSo I'm back. Sans four teeth, and with a fairly locked jaw, but I'm back, living out of the spare bedroom in Leominster. It's... weird. But ok. For now. We'll see.
I have decided that oral surgery SUCKS. Not just a little, but a whole big truckload. External hurt I can deal with. Slap some alcohol on it, coat liberally with triple antibiotic ointment, and apply bandaid (or similar.) Go on with life. But not so with yanked teeth! You can't forget about it and you can't fix it. Pooh. All I really want is a good steak and a beer.
My Mum decided that since I insisted on going back to work, she would make sure I would be getting food. So here I am, stocked with Beechnut Third Stage sweet potatoes, apricots, etc. She didn't go so far as to get me the beef in a bottle. *sigh* For those of you who aren't privy, it's babyfood. But it's sustinance...
Went to say goodbye to my grandma today, and she forgot and did the grandma 'grab-your-face to give you a kiss' thing. I thought I was going to pass out. CarKiller almost died laughing. I thought about dunking her in the water trough.
Our big golden baby is sick. Eighter (our 12 year old Percheron/Belgian draft horse) went severely lame. Seems he got some gravel in the hoof. It's working it's way out, but the symptoms didn't add up, so the vet drew blood and found his liver is doing unpleasant things. So he's in the barn, loving all the attention. Guess the vet's seen a few other horses with the problem this spring. CarKiller's thinking about training him to saddle. That ought to be funny. But if she can do it, he'd be fun to work with.
So in other news, my father announced out of the blue that he was looking for a car for me.
*insert shocked look and accelerated heart rate here*
I guess I'll have to seriously talk to him about motorcycles more often...
Do be do.. So yea, I'm here. Back even. And home was good. I let a lot of tension get diffused out there, and am feeling a little better. A little optimistic. Even if I am bumming about missing Panteria, (due to this whole lack of trandsport and fully mobile jaw thing,) but there's Pennsic to look forward to!
