I used to have a list of things I kept in mind when looking at houses, back from when the ex and I were doing that dance. I don't know where it's got off too, and I really wish I'd kept it.

How far from employment?
How close to major routes?
How close to shopping, groceries, farm store?
Town maintained road?
Town garbage?
Outside:
Pool? Deal breaker - move on unless it can be demolished.
Zoning? Deal breaker - either zoned Ag or be in a right-to-farm location.
Age of House?
Size of lot? Closest neighbor?
What type of driveway? How long? Parking situation and for how many?
What type of roof? How old? Gutters?
What type of siding? Last maintained?
What type of windows?
What's the terrain like? Sloped, flat? Wooded, cleared? Shady or sunny?
Outbuildings for barn/shop space? Condition? Utilities to the buildings?
Fences? Condition? (fenced backyard for dog?)
Landscaping? (if any)
Trees - age, health, proximity to buildings?
Utilities - water, sewer situation? Water quality? Wells, cisterns?
Soil? loam, sandy, clay? Drainage? Any worked fields? Gardens?
