"FS: Paw Protectors, and a story
I have a Golden Retriever, Mr B. While sweet, he's not particularly bright.
As an added bonus he's accident prone.
To this end, every year we try new boots to protect his delicate paws from the cutting ice and stinging salt. This serves to try to subvert the vet bills, but mostly for my personal entertainment.
In my experience, a dog in boots will do one of three things:
1) Run around like someone's lit his paws on fire.
2) Flop around pathetically, because boots negate gravity, don't you know.
or
3) Stand absolutely still and stare at the human, who is laughing like a crazy person, alternately pleading with his big, Golden Retriever eyes to made the madness stop, or glaring something that can be loosely translated as "I'm going to relieve myself on your shoes."
Once I get him to accept that the boots are not coming off, and that all outdoor adventures require boots, he spends the rest of the winter loosing them in snow drifts. Thus requiring the purchase of new boot devices every year.
This year was no different, so I picked some up while out Christmas shopping. Nice sturdy boots, PVC outer shell, fleecy lined, attaches with a strip of velcro. I got them home, looking forward to laughing myself stupid at my poor dog's expense, only to find out the joke was on me and the boots were too small.
The day was saved for Mr. Dog.
However, my screw up can be your entertainment, for I am selling these entertainment/torture/protection boots!
Brand new, in box, 1 set (so, 4, one for each paw) red Paw-Tectors, Size Medium, made by Pedigree Perfection. The back of the package says it will fit dogs up to 2 3/4" (measuring the width of the pad - so, from where there would be a thumb to a pinkie finger across the knuckles. Only dogs don't have thumbs. But you knew that.)
