Sorry, should have mentioned... I'm making an architect's box, but am modifying the designs so that it's more of a scribe's case. Think big wooden briefcase with an angled top. Sort of a portable desk. Dimensions are as such: approx. 20'x30'x6', (4' at the low end of the angle.) Inside there are deviders to keep books, papers, and stuff seperated. I'm the only one in the class making one; everyone else pansied out and are making the cd rack, (out of what looks like poor grade poplar that school provides, I might add.)
Questions, thoughts? I threw around ideas with the one wood guy I can stand and we went from the moderate to the silly, trying to one-up each other. "Ash?" he asked. "Maple?" I quieried back. Him:"Cherry?" Me:"Walnut?" Him:"Burled Oak?" Me:"Tiger Maple?" Him: "Awe hell, just do it in Mahogony." Me: "Naw. Teak." ;)
I also have to take into account price, though I hear there's a place out here having a hardwood sale.
- K, who still has your tatter cloak and should return it.
