A post about not posting

"Nudgeing"

I swear to Dog, anyone I catch using the LJ "feature" to "nudge" me to post will be summarily drawn, quartered, burned at the stake, and then used as cat litter by two very active cats.

If I go for 7 days without posting, either =

a) Perhaps Pick Up the Phone and Call Me

b) I'm dead in a ditch somewhere, but it's been 7 days, and no one's bothered to look for me yet, and you need LJ to remind you to do that?

or

c) I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY.

I will post what I want to post, when I want to post it, whenever I damn well please. And no "feature" that allows people to inspire guilt for not posting will get me to post anything faster. Or more interesting.

Nudging.
I'll give you a nudge.
To the head.
With a cinderblock.
And C4.

what is this nudging you speak of? is this an automatic thing, or something that needs to be nudged into existance by an outside source?

If it makes you feel any better, I'd still talk to your week-dead corpse and ask if you wanted a beer...

Awee... thanks for offering my corpse a beer...

This is a thing that allows a mutual friend to ping you if they see you haven't posted in 7 or so days, and they want you to post, but, if you read along to Nomad's post, It's disable-able.

oh, isn't that cute. Now the obsessive compulsive people who need people to post on a regular basis can ping the people who are depressed and unloved and need encouragement to come out from their stinky holes under rocks. I love LJ even more now...
