Jan. 2nd, 2011 02:11 pmStill under the weather. Cold is in my chest now. Broke down and took drugs.
Dog is good and healthy.
House is clean. Most xmass stuff put away.
Didn't get to fixing my armor over break. Blame the sick and my general inability to work up the energy to lift it out of the car.
Special things I got for X-mass:
An original Airehill Farms milk bottle, made in '53. This is the farm HorseChaser works on. They don't bottle their own any more. It will cease to be a working dairy farm in June. FarmerRoy isn't getting any younger, and people aren't willing to pay what milk is worth.
You can kiss another mid-size farm goodbye for the sake of $2 milk. *sigh
2 proper pie plates from my mother. Bennington Potters is the gold standard for bake ware in my family, and I covet these. A scalloped edged pie plate in Blackberry, and a 10" round-baker in Tavern Ware. See http://www.benningtonpotters.com/ to lust over the pottery. I can now make proper apple pie.
A beautiful Tractor Calendar that will live with me at work and remind me why I'm there.
As I said at my toast, last year saw lots of new faces and far away places. The people I met have been wonderful, the experience of it all unforgettable. I look forward to building on these new relationships this year.
Now. More Tea. Hope ya'll are happy and healthy.
