Life continues apace. A hard time of year and hard decisions to be made.
Slight headache left over from last night, but overall, a quite positive practice, surprisingly. I don't know if it's the weather, or the mix of folks, or what, but there was only one instance that Frustrated Me wanted to come out, but Logical Me laid a good argument and shut FM up.
Work is work.
Tonight I take Little Brother out to dinner and to get him some new duds for his new gig down at UMass Med, as one of their IT guys. I'm happy for him, but I just smile and shake my head. I was there once, not too long ago.
Question to the masses (since I don't have a paid account with nifty poll options and clicky buttons)
Giving notice at a job that has been routinely dissappointing:
A) No notice. They sucked balls and don't deserve it.
B) 2 Weeks - It's the polite, professional thing to do
C) Other (Explain)
I was just taken aback when I asked if he'd given his two weeks yet, and he replied "No, I was advised not to because they're just going to pin everything that's going to go wrong on me anyway and I don't want to deal with it."
BLINK. Hell, Kiddo - I survived what almost turned into a come to blows at one of my gigs, and I still gave them two weeks. Maybe I just don't enjoy burning bridges, but in that case maybe I was to nice.
Thoughts?
**Edit** He rethought things and gave them a week and a half (the way their pay periods fall, this is probably for the best, actually.)
