Crispy

This morning was beautiful. Crispy, borderline chilly, bright clear sun.
A few leaves are beginning to turn. Things I planted are being harvested.
I do enjoy this time of year. The woods smell spicy and the air usually carries a little hint of wood smoke. Makes me think of stacking fire wood, putting up hay, lining my nest, as it were.

I will be shoving some furniture around soon, and getting a bigger carpet for the living room I think. and likely a pad for it too. I need all the insulation between me and the basement I can get.

It is the time of year approaching that has me yearning for a wood stove. There's no other heat like it. But I've never been in a position to live with one outside my parents.
Another thing on the top of my hit list will likely be a secondary freezer. I've been doing a lot of stocking, and there's literally no room left. Well, part of that is also taken up by about 10 lbs of flour... but I had no where else to put it...

This weekend I'm going home to visit the parents. Ought to be interesting, as they aren't expecting it. Maybe if I ask really nice, I can leave early on friday. I can hope anyway.
