Weekend update with Mr Dog
Jul. 14th, 2008 09:47 amUpdate on Mr. Dog - Went to the vet, got part of his face shaved, a once a day systemic antibiotic and a twice a day antibiotic/steroid combo powder to dust his goldeness's face with.
Best guess - He was nailed by a horsefly or a deer fly, started scratching his face, and wouldn't stop, resulting in a lovely infected bloody open sore.
He gets to wear his new Darth Vader Cone for the next week until it heals

I can't recommend it enough. I got mine at Especially for Pets. You have to ask for them at the counter.
Friday night was good and relaxed. Didn't do much - Got Kingdom Of Heaven from the NetFlix, and watched the first half. The director's cut is Long, but well worth it. It doesn't leave you wanting for anything, really. I have a new found enjoyment of Orlando Bloom as a brooding dark-haired angst-ridden individual, instead of the terminally perky blonde elf.
Saturday brought moving for the Dervish and the Elmer. There was much moving. There was much chaos. There was some laughable bonding mixed in. Pizza, beer, and a good time was had by all. Went home, cared for the invalid's face, and watched the second half of Kingdom of Heaven.
Sunday saw laundry, ironing, and Mr. Dog's big day out. He had a lovely time with his friends (sans cone, since I could keep an eye on him.) He was thoroughly exhausted, so I went to have have dinner and see Hellboy with the Perries, the Cheech, and Harly's Human's.
A good time was had by all.
All in all, a nicely paced weekend.
Now - to get something done. After breakfast. ;)

***EDIT - OH! and I have a lovely new-to-me Scotch display cabinet (glass front media center) thanks to the Dervish and the Elmer. It got my Scotch out of the closet (where it was languishing unhappily) and out where I can see it to remember I have it. To gaze upon it and notice it's lovely labels, the curvaceous planes of the bottles, and the striking difference in the many hues of the contents. I even have comfortable room for about 5-7 more bottles. Go, go organization lass!
