Jul. 8th, 2006 01:59 amEvery once in a while, a movie comes along that makes you believe.
A while back, magic was brought back into my life with the help of an old grey wizard and a really hot ranger. Courage and perseverance were steadily raised by a man on a horse and a few dogs, (some of whom survived.)
There was a time when you could learn things from movies. Things like courage, morality, loss, and standing up for what's right. There are a pantheon of characters who, in the way only the creators can fully comprehend, have helped to shape people.
Tonight I saw another of these movies, and for me, it was shear delight to watch my second most favorite artist's work brought to life and splashed over a 3 story screen, because Mr Ross's work is just that big. Too big to be properly contained on any printed page, tonight, and for many nights, his dramatic lighting will dance before the faces of thousands of people who had never before really experienced his work.
The story too,- too big, too storied and historied to be properly contained. It was broken down, rewritten, and rereleased back to people who need a little more Truth, Justice, and a Compassionate Way. I hope that a good number of people walked away tonight, and even if just for a little while, take something super home with them.
