The sudden downward rush
of Bear charging

The sudden rush of wings
as Crow circled

The sudden rush of fear
as Fox turned his back

The sudden rush of realization
that Wolf fell silent long ago

The sickness that ensued

And out of the abyss Jay emerged
Made a sacrifice
And danced me back onto the path

Granting back the confidence
To show me how make things right
To stop my selfishness
To let things go

My time of complacency has ended
The new spiral turns
I must walk my own path now
I must find my way
I must step back into the dance

The fear, it overwhelms me
But Bear has halted his rushing,
Crow has shown the new path,
Fox turns back to me now,
Jay alights gently on the heart,
And Wolf stirs again.

It is done, and can never be undone.

I get this neat thing, called "A Sonnet a Day" from some silly Shakespere website. It actually only comes about twice a week, but today's was:

XL.

Take all my loves, my love, yea, take them all;
What hast thou then more than thou hadst before?
No love, my love, that thou mayst true love call;
All mine was thine before thou hadst this more.
Then if for my love thou my love receivest,
I cannot blame thee for my love thou usest;
But yet be blamed, if thou thyself deceivest
By wilful taste of what thyself refusest.
I do forgive thy robbery, gentle thief,
Although thou steal thee all my poverty;
And yet, love knows, it is a greater grief
To bear love's wrong than hate's known injury.
Lascivious grace, in whom all ill well shows,
Kill me with spites; yet we must not be foes.

*goes back to hiding under the proverbial bed*
