Something that made me irrationally happy...
It wasn't any one thing, but every annoying little thing coming to a head.
Logistics, production, vendor problems, and file issues at work have seen me putting in anywhere from 1 to 8 extra hours at work a week. I can't complain, because it's not really as bad as it could be, and it means a spiffier paycheck for me, but it's annoying, because with Mr. Bailey McWoofyPants around now, I have a super cool reason other than The Man to come home. Have been missing breakfastses, lunch, and afternoon tea, and it's added up to a whole bunch of grumpy suck.
So Friday afternoon, in a grim and foul mood, I finally leave work, only a 1/2 hour late. The weather was beautiful, and my mood lightened a tad as I tromped out to the Dragon. With a sigh, I flipped on the radio to see what kind of mayhem I was going to encounter on the roads to home.
The radio wasn't on my normal country station.
It was on 104.1.
And what was last friday, boys and girls?
That's right.
The first Pat's pre-season game.
Suddenly, life ceased to suck.
A giant, Cheshire Cat grin spread across my face, life a kid at christmas.
Gino was on the radio.
There was football in the air.
Football hearlds fall.
Fall, over the past few years, has become my favorite time of year.
Fall means football and leaves and hot cider and pie.
And PIE!
And pumpkins and apples and Pie.
pie pie pie
And cool days when I can wear real clothes and the return of days that will let me wear my lovely sweaters of Illustrator Death again.
Dear Gino - Thank you, and thank you Pats, for being there for me on friday.
And all it took was:
"Let's pause 10 seconds for station ID - this is WBCN 104.1, Your home of the New England Patriots..."
