Wednesday would have been my grandmother's 94th birthday.
I was sitting at work, listening to an interview on NPR of a woman who's written a book about how the wedding industry has gone insane, and the traditional organ-heavy Wedding March geared up as their bumper music.
It hit me that my grandmother will never see my wedding.
And it's just made me horribly sad.

She's always there. A year or so ago, there was a horrible storm. knocked down at least four of the trees on her property. She was there making sure the trees fell in such a way that they did not damage the house. I can just see her sitting on the roof blowing with all her might against the wind to make sure the trees fell in the proper directions. It makes me smile when I think about it.
I know she will be with us at my wedding. Just as I am sure your grandmother will be with you on your special day. Because its our memories and our stories that keep them alive.
