Radius

It surprised me how big my stomping ground of acceptable places to live is.

Honestly, it's within a 120 mile radius of my family, give or take a few miles, and dependant on the roads used to get to it.

This includes most of CT and MA, the top left corner of RI, a vast chunk of VT, a slighty smaller chunk of NH, and a great bite of NY. The only New England state that's a little beyond me, (though I love to visit it,) is ME.

Huh. I have a very large acceptable area of living. If I'm doing the math right, an area of about 45,216 miles, but I'm not a math person, so this might not be accurate.

*But* this calculation is based solely on one variable. Once I start adding in variables like "areas I'm mostly likely going to be able to find a job", "areas I can afford to live in", "areas where I can maintain my relationships comfortably", and "areas that still maintain some accessible wild greenspace", the number falls dramatically.

The base number just struck me as funny, considering that I always thought I was being difficult when it came to where I was willing to live, when in fact, it's much larger than I first gave it credit for.

It's just the damn variables that will get you every time.

-k.
